Terms & Conditions

Last updated: June 13, 2026

Welcome to Retire Abroad Hub. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of retireabroadhub.com (the “Site”) and the consultation services we facilitate (together, the “Services”). Please read them carefully. By using the Site or booking a consultation, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing the Site, booking a call, or otherwise using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

2. What Retire Abroad Hub does

Retire Abroad Hub is an informational consultation service that connects North Americans considering a move abroad with independent local guides who share their personal, first-hand experience of living in a given destination.

We facilitate introductions and scheduling. We are not a relocation agency, law firm, immigration consultancy, financial-services firm, real-estate brokerage, or travel agency, and we do not act as your agent or representative.

3. Informational purpose only - not professional advice

The Services are for general informational and conversational purposes only.

Our guides are not lawyers, licensed immigration consultants, financial advisors, tax professionals, or medical professionals (unless they independently hold such credentials, which we do not represent or verify). Nothing shared through the Services constitutes legal, immigration, financial, tax, investment, real-estate, or medical advice.

Information shared by guides reflects their personal experience and opinions and may not be accurate, current, or applicable to your situation. Laws, visa rules, taxes, costs, and conditions change frequently and vary by individual circumstances. You should always consult appropriately licensed professionals before making any relocation, legal, financial, tax, or medical decision. You are solely responsible for any decisions you make and any actions you take based on the Services.

These advertising pixels may set cookies and collect identifiers (such as your IP address and events like page views or bookings) that are shared with Meta and TikTok, who process this data under their own privacy policies. You can manage non-essential cookies through your browser settings and the opt-out tools described in Section 7. Where required by law (for example, for visitors in the EEA and UK), we will request your consent before setting non-essential cookies.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Servic

es. By using the Services, you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.

5. Guides and their relationship to us

Guides are independent third parties, not employees, partners, or agents of Retire Abroad Hub. We make reasonable efforts to vet guides, but we do not guarantee, endorse, or warrant any guide’s qualifications, statements, advice, conduct, or availability.

Any consultation is a conversation between you and the guide. We are not a party to that conversation and are not responsible for its content or outcome. Your interactions with a guide are at your own risk.

6. Bookings and consultations

  • Consultations are scheduled through our third-party scheduling provider, Calendly, and delivered by video call.
  • A free introductory discovery call may be offered to help you decide which destination or guide is right for you. This call is general information only and is subject to these Terms.
  • You are responsible for attending your call at the scheduled time, with a working internet connection and any equipment needed.
  • We may modify, reschedule, or cancel a booking where a guide becomes unavailable, and will offer a reschedule or refund of any prepaid fee in that case.
  •

7. Fees and payment

Fees for paid consultations are displayed before you book. Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe; by booking, you authorize us (through Stripe) to charge the applicable fee, and you agree to Stripe’s terms and privacy policy with respect to the handling of your payment information. Unless stated otherwise, fees are in the currency shown at checkout and exclude any taxes, which may be added where required. We may change our fees at any time, but changes will not affect bookings already confirmed.

8. Cancellations, rescheduling & refunds

Because guides hold dedicated time for you, the following rules balance fairness to you with respect for their time. This section is our full Refund & Cancellation Policy and forms part of these Terms.

Refund eligibility at a glance:

Situation

What you get

You cancel 24+ hours before the call

Full refund or free reschedule — your choice

You cancel less than 24 hours before

One courtesy reschedule; fee is non-refundable

You don’t show up

No refund (the guide held the time)

The guide cancels or doesn’t show

Full refund or free reschedule — always

A technical failure on our side prevents the call

Full refund or free reschedule

Free discovery call. The 15-minute discovery call is free of charge. There is nothing to refund, and you may reschedule or cancel it at any time through your Calendly confirmation.

Rescheduling. You may reschedule a paid consultation free of charge up to 24 hours before its scheduled start time, using the link in your Calendly confirmation. Within 24 hours of the start time, we’ll honor one courtesy reschedule where the guide’s availability allows, but the fee remains non-refundable.

Cancellations. If you cancel 24 or more hours before your scheduled start time, you may choose a full refund or a free reschedule. If you cancel less than 24 hours before the start time, the fee is non-refundable, though you may use one courtesy reschedule as described above.

No-shows & late arrivals. If you do not join your call within a reasonable time of the scheduled start (generally 15 minutes) and have not rescheduled in advance, the session is treated as delivered and is not refundable. If you arrive late, your guide will do their best to help in the remaining time, but the call still ends at its scheduled time and is not extended or refunded.

If a guide cancels. If your guide cancels, becomes unavailable, or fails to attend a confirmed booking, you are entitled to a full refund or a free reschedule with the same or another guide , your choice.

Technical problems. If a call cannot take place because of a technical failure on our side or the guide’s side, you’ll receive a full refund or a free reschedule. We can’t be responsible for failures on your own equipment or internet connection, but if a call is genuinely disrupted, contact us and we’ll review it fairly.

How refunds are processed. Approved refunds are issued through Stripe to your original payment method. Once we process a refund, Stripe and your bank typically take 5–10 business days to return the funds. We’ll confirm by email when a refund has been issued.

How to request a refund. Email hello@retireabroadhub.com within 7 days of your scheduled call, including your name, the date of the call, and the guide’s name so we can locate your booking. We aim to respond within 2 business days.

Disputes & chargebacks. If you’re unhappy with a charge, please contact us first — most issues are resolved quickly and informally. Filing a chargeback with your bank before contacting us can delay resolution.

9. Acceptable use

When using the Services, you agree not to:

  • Use the Services for any unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or abusive purpose;
  • Harass, threaten, or mistreat any guide, staff member, or other user;
  • Attempt to arrange payment or services with a guide outside the platform in order to avoid fees, or solicit a guide for purposes unrelated to the consultation;
  • Copy, scrape, resell, or redistribute Site content or guide information without permission;
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or its systems.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time if you violate these Terms.

10. Intellectual property

All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, the “Retire Abroad Hub” name and brand, page design, and compilations — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to access and use the Site for its intended purpose. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

11. Third-party services and links

The Services rely on third-party providers (such as Calendly for scheduling, Stripe for payment processing, and our hosting and advertising partners) and may link to third-party websites. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of these third parties. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Retire Abroad Hub and its operators, owners, employees, and guides will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Services, any consultation, or any decision you make based on information provided.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid to us for the specific consultation giving rise to the claim (or, if no fee was paid, CAD $100).

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Retire Abroad Hub and its operators, owners, employees, and guides from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

15. Privacy

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

16. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim in your local jurisdiction. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any issue informally.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes may be communicated through the Site or by email. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

18. General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any policies referenced here, constitute the entire agreement between you and Retire Abroad Hub regarding the Services. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a business transfer.
